Accessibility
Coachyn should work for you, whatever you use to read it. Here's what we aim for, what we test, and what's not right yet.
What we aim for
We design to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA.
What we test
- Color contrast, on every build. An automated check stops the build if any text or control is too faint. It checks light and dark mode.
- Keyboard use. You can reach and use every link, button, and form without a mouse. A visible ring shows where you are.
- Reduced motion. If your device asks for less motion, the site's small animations are turned off.
- Reading comfort. Body text uses Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface designed by the Braille Institute for legibility.
Sessions are spoken
A coaching session is a spoken conversation. Live captions show what you and your coach say, labeled by who's speaking. The full transcript is saved in your session history.
You can type to describe your situation before a session, and to edit next steps and goals after. The conversation itself needs a microphone and sound.
If speaking or listening is hard for you, email [email protected]. Tell us what would help.
What we know isn't right yet
We haven't finished a full screen reader review of the public site and the app. Until we do, some parts may be harder to use with a screen reader. If you hit one, please tell us.
Tell us about a problem
Email [email protected] with the page and what happened. A person will reply within 2 working days.
