Billing and Refunds
Plans, trials, renewals, price changes, cancellation, and when you get your money back.
Draft notice. This page describes how Coachyn is intended to work and is written in plain language on purpose. It is not yet a finalised legal document and has not been reviewed by counsel. If something here matters to a decision you're making, ask us rather than assuming.
1. Plans
Coachyn has a free plan and paid plans. What each one includes is on the pricing page. The free plan is not a trial — it doesn't expire and it doesn't require a card.
Plan prices and inclusions on this site are current as published and may change as described in section 6.
2. Trials
A paid plan may include a trial period. If you cancel before the trial ends you are not charged. If you don't, the plan starts and the first payment is taken at the end of the trial. We'll remind you before that happens.
One trial per person. Creating additional accounts to repeat a trial is a breach of the Acceptable Use Policy.
3. How billing works
- Subscriptions are billed in advance, monthly or annually, depending on what you chose.
- Payment is taken by our payment processor. We don't store your card number.
- Prices are shown in USD unless stated otherwise, and exclude any sales tax or VAT that applies where you live — that's added at checkout.
- Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
4. Changing plan
Upgrading takes effect immediately. You're charged the difference for the rest of the current period, prorated.
Downgrading takes effect at the end of the current period, so you keep what you've already paid for. Your plan then changes and the new price applies from the next renewal.
Switching between monthly and annual works the same way: to annual immediately, to monthly at the end of the period.
5. Cancelling
Cancel at any time from your account settings. There's no cancellation fee and no exit conversation to sit through.
You keep access to your paid features until the end of the period you've already paid for. After that the account drops to the free plan. Your goals and coaching history are not deleted because you stopped paying — if you want them removed, that's a separate request under the Privacy Policy.
Cancelling a subscription is not the same as deleting your account. If you want both, do both.
6. Price changes
We may change prices. If a change affects your existing subscription we'll tell you at least 30 days before it takes effect, and it will only apply from your next renewal. If you don't want to continue at the new price, cancel before then and you won't be charged it.
7. Refunds
Statutory rights come first — nothing here limits a right to cancel or a refund that the law gives you where you live.
On top of that, our position is:
- Within 14 days of a first paid subscription — tell us and we'll refund it, no explanation needed.
- Annual plans — if you cancel part-way through the year and have barely used it, get in touch. We'd rather discuss it than hide behind the policy.
- Renewal you didn't intend — if you're charged for a renewal you meant to cancel and you haven't used the new period, we'll refund it.
- Service failure — if Coachyn didn't work and we couldn't fix it, that's a refund, not a support ticket.
Refunds go back to the original payment method and usually take a few working days to appear.
8. Failed payments
If a payment fails we'll try again over a short period and let you know. If it keeps failing, paid features are suspended and the account moves to the free plan. Your data stays; restoring access is a matter of updating the payment method.
9. Chargebacks
If something looks wrong on your statement, please contact us first — most of these are a misunderstanding we can resolve in a day. Raising a chargeback without contacting us may result in the account being suspended while the dispute is handled.
10. If we close your account
If we suspend or close a paid account for a breach of the Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy, we don't generally refund the remaining period. If we close it for any other reason — including discontinuing the service — we refund the unused portion.
11. Contact
Billing questions: message us with the billing topic selected, or email [email protected]. Include the email on the account and the date of the charge and it'll be quicker.
