Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Coachyn — what the service is, what stays your responsibility, and how either side ends it.
Draft notice. This page describes how Coachyn is intended to work and is written in plain language on purpose. It is not yet a finalised legal document and has not been reviewed by counsel. If something here matters to a decision you're making, ask us rather than assuming.
1. This agreement
These terms are the agreement between you and Coachyn ("Coachyn", "we", "us") covering your use of the Coachyn website and the Coachyn coaching service. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you don't accept them, don't use the service.
Several other pages form part of this agreement and are worth reading alongside it: the Coaching Disclaimer, the Acceptable Use Policy, the Billing and Refunds terms, the Messaging and Notifications terms, and the Privacy Policy.
2. What the service is
Coachyn is an agentic AI coaching platform. It helps you clarify goals, break them into manageable steps, stay accountable, recover when things slip, and build momentum over time. It routes what you bring to one of nineteen domain coaches and follows up with you through the channels you choose.
Coaching content is generated by AI models. It is guidance to be tested against your own circumstances, not instruction and not a professional opinion. Section 7 and the Coaching Disclaimer set out the limits of that in full.
3. Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to hold a Coachyn account. You must be able to enter a binding contract, and you must not be barred from using the service under any applicable law.
Accounts are for one person. Don't share your credentials, and don't let someone else use your account as though it were theirs — your coach's usefulness depends on its history belonging to one person.
4. Your account
- Give accurate details when you register, and keep them current.
- Keep your password to yourself and tell us promptly if you think someone else has it.
- You're responsible for what happens under your account, except where it results from our own failure to keep the service secure.
Identity and credentials are held by the Coachyn API, not by this website. See the Privacy Policy for how that data is handled.
5. You do the work
Coachyn does not do the work for you — it helps you do the work. You remain responsible for the decisions you make, the actions you take, and the outcomes that follow. That includes deciding whether any particular suggestion is right for your situation, and when to involve a qualified professional instead.
We make no promise about results. Whether you follow through is, unavoidably and by design, up to you.
6. How you may use it
Use Coachyn lawfully and for its intended purpose. The Acceptable Use Policy lists the specific things that are not allowed, including attempts to push a coach past its stated boundaries, automated scraping, and interfering with the service or other people's use of it.
7. Boundaries
Coachyn maintains a clear boundary between coaching and licensed professional services. It does not provide therapy, psychological or psychiatric care, medical advice, legal advice, or regulated financial advice, and it will not attempt to diagnose or treat clinical conditions. Each domain coach carries explicit limits on what it will not do.
If you need licensed professional support, seek it directly. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services. The Coaching Disclaimer sets this out in detail and forms part of these terms.
8. Plans and payment
Some features require a paid plan. Prices, trials, renewals, cancellation, and refunds are covered by the Billing and Refunds terms, which form part of this agreement.
9. Your content and our content
What you put in
Your goals, messages, and coaching history remain yours. You grant us the licence we need to operate the service — to store that content, process it (including through the AI providers listed in the Privacy Policy) so your coach can respond, and display it back to you. We don't sell it, and we don't use it to advertise to you.
What we put in
The Coachyn software, brand, site, and coaching design are ours or our licensors'. Nothing in these terms transfers that to you. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service while your account is in good standing.
Coaching output
You may use the guidance, plans, and summaries Coachyn produces for you however you like, including commercially. Given how AI models work, we can't promise that output is unique to you or that it doesn't resemble something generated for someone else.
10. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Coachyn available and working, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change, add, or remove features; where a change materially reduces what a paid plan gives you, we'll tell you in advance and you may cancel under the Billing terms.
Coachyn is early-stage software. Features may behave differently from how this website describes them while we build.
11. Ending this agreement
You can stop using Coachyn and close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, that is being used for the licensed professional purposes described in section 7, or where we're required to by law.
Where the breach is minor and fixable, we'll normally warn you first. Where it isn't — abuse of other people, attempts to compromise the service, or unlawful use — we may act immediately.
On closure you lose access to the service. What happens to your data is set out in the Privacy Policy.
12. Disclaimers
Coachyn is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that coaching output is accurate, complete, or suitable for your circumstances — see the Coaching Disclaimer.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and nothing here affects consumer rights you have under the law where you live.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost opportunity, or loss of data, arising from your use of Coachyn. Our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for the service during that period.
Given what the product does, one point deserves stating plainly: decisions you make about your health, money, career, relationships, or legal position are yours. Coachyn is not liable for the outcome of a decision it helped you organise.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. The date at the top of this page is when the current version took effect. For material changes we'll give notice — by email or in the product — before they apply. Continuing to use Coachyn after that means you accept the updated terms.
15. General
- If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
- Not enforcing a right straight away doesn't waive it.
- You may not transfer this agreement; we may transfer it as part of a reorganisation or sale of the business, on the same terms.
- The governing law and the courts that have jurisdiction will be confirmed when these terms are finalised with counsel.
